Handheld Paint Gun

This handheld paint gun is used in an industrial powder coating application system by painters who do manual touch-ups on the production line. Through the study of painters’ motions while at work, our industrial design team produced handle concepts that minimized wrist pronation, which leads to carpal tunnel syndrome. Rapid prototypes of a conventional pistol grip and an ergonomically designed wand grip were field-tested before finalizing the design. The rugged, lightweight gun is adaptable to a variety of operators and painting positions.
