Our client engaged us to create an all-day workshop with the goal of creating an internal process to increase and coordinate proactive advocacy. They wanted to demonstrate sustainable solutions that would enable diverse business units to think together and network both internally and externally relative to advocacy intelligence, monitoring of sustainability issues, and response network capability.
Prior to the session, we provided homework assignments to participants to encourage the correct frame of mind and a shared agenda to ensure success on the day of the workshop. On the day of the workshop, we began with a group discussion of what sustainability advocacy meant within and across business units, which was intended to focus participants on the topic of advocacy and lead to the development of a description of the opportunity that would be explored during the remainder of the day. A variety of idea-generation sessions were hosted and analyzed throughout the day, until the final session engaged participants in mapping a path forward to ensure that the momentum of the day would culminate in an achievable advocacy process.
