This Lunch and Learn is based on our blog article Why Ordinary Brainstorming Doesn’t Work. It begins by walking the learner through the failings of most corporate brainstorming sessions, including the lack of a skilled moderator, poor preparation, and lack of structure; the Blue Sky problem (a lack of constraints); the lack of diversity in the participants; overly dominant personalities with hidden agendas; and the lack of any convergence of ideas into actionable solutions. We then introduce successful ideation-generation tools, which are put into practice in breakout problem-solving sessions.
