Industrial Designer Emma Coughlin

Daedalus welcomes Industrial Designer Emma Coughlin. Emma is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Industrial Design. She previously worked at K2M Design in Cleveland and Vesco Medical in Columbus, experiences that grew both her design and engineering skill sets. She has experience with validation testing, formative and evaluative research, shadowing in various emergency clinical settings, and drafting user needs. Her passion for design stems from a deep curiosity about the way people interact with the built world, and the desire to make those interactions better. Emma believes that design should always be led by a deep understanding of the user, so that solutions can solve meaningful problems.

When not working on the above, Emma enjoys caring for her many houseplants, getting a sweat on, and exploring her new home city of Pittsburgh.
