Andrew Nelson joins UX group

Andrew Nelson, a UX designer with a background in interface design and user research, has joined our group.

Andrew is a Pittsburgh native, who, after graduating with a BA in Graphic Art from Indiana University, ventured as far as Zurich to start his career with an international ad agency. His work there included the design of a social network for doctors specializing in rare diseases and the patients suffering from them.

Pittsburgh won out and he returned to work with local agencies and startups, before briefly venturing to DC, and once again returning to Pittsburgh. His portfolio of past work includes the redesign of health insurance member portals, the creation of an enterprise level search engine from scratch, and designing and launching an award-winning app for internet-of-things (IOT) enabled construction tools.

Outside of work, Andrew participates with a weekly trivia team, is active in Pittsburgh’s Startup Weekends, creates art comics, and goes hiking whenever his brilliant wife suggests that he needs a little sunshine in his life.
